Deloitte sets IT challenge for university students

usiness and technology consultancy Deloitte has kicked off its 2011 search for the best technology talent in K unversities                    .

Deloitte's 2011 Top Technology Talent Competition seeks to find the best ide

as about how technology can solve a business problem.

Last year's winner was Moonwon Lee from Trinity College, Dublin, had a business plan

to develop multi-carrier mobile broadband access.

The competition is an opportunity for IT students to apply their technology

know-how to a business problem. The winner can choose between a prize

of £1,000 or four weeks paid work in Deloitte's technology integration practice.

Paul Mordue, Deloitte technology partner, said the link between technology and

its business application is often lost.

"It's one thing having an understanding of how technology works but quite another understanding how to successfully use it to enhance a business. The competition reflects the kind of challenges that Deloitte's clients present our technology consulting business with every day."

"The competition is a great way to engage with talented students and I am excited by the ideas they will come up with this year."

The five best entries will be invited to Deloitte's London offices in April 2011 to present their ideas to panel of industry experts who will select the winner.
